The Future of Tele-Dentistry at Risk

HB441 (Tele-Dentistry) is in danger of being vetoed by Governor Kemp. HB441 would allow dentists to use secure technology to connect with patients remotely, expanding access to oral healthcare for people in rural and underserved areas across Georgia. Patients who might not have access to a dentist in their area could receive preventative care – all under current General Supervision law while being carefully regulated by the Georgia Board of Dentistry.

Please urge Governor Kemp to sign HB441 into law. It's a win-win for Georgians seeking quality dental care and for dentists looking to bridge the gap in underserved communities.

Call the Governor’s office today at 404-656-1776 and urge Governor Kemp to sign this bill!

Talking Points:

1. HB441 would allow dentists to use secure technology to connect with patients remotely, expanding access to oral healthcare for people in rural and underserved areas across Georgia.

2. HB441 follows current General Supervision law while being carefully regulated by the Georgia Board of Dentistry.  These are “old rules” that are being used in new ways.

3. The same principles used for Insurance and Medicaid plans with other tele-health methods will apply to tele-dentistry. Because of the tactile nature of the dental profession, we believe usage of the codes will be limited to the most underserved areas of our state and relatively low.

Be sure to tell them you are a member of the Georgia Dental Association and where you practice.
